You do not have to exercise vigorously to reap health benefits. You can still stay healthy if you do moderate-intensity physical activity for at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week.
The 30 minutes can be broken down into 10 min segment throughout the day.
Example of Routine/Daily physical activity that you can engage are listed below:
You could try brisk walking for a few minutes everyday. Only go up to the distance that you can. Stop when you feel short of breath. Just gradually increase the distance or the minutes walked day by day. This would surely give you more endurance slowly but surely.
And don’t forget to eat healthy foods everyday, ok? And drink plenty of water too! Good luck!
Just eat a 2000 calorie diet and run 5 nights a week for 30 minutes to an hour(or any other form of cardio). This way you will mantain your current weight still but gain the benefits that a cardiovascular workout will give you. Tell your family that working out is not just for people who want to loose weight. It is a lifestyle change. People who start working out to loose weight have to continue to work out to mantain there weight. EVen if you are skinny there are many benefits to cardio such as a reduced risk of heart disease, stronger muscles, ect… They should understand, tell them to get off there ***** and start working out…lol
I was in the similar situation like yours some time ago. I was trying to lose just a wee bit of weight and the main objective is to tone up my body to look healthier and better. However, since I am already thin, I could not exercise obviously in front of my family because they would think that I am trying to be aneroxic. Anyway, I just hide myself in the room to exercise then lol. Pathetic I would say.
I guess you would not have to follow my footsteps, all you have to do is just to tell your parents that you are not trying to lose weight, you are just trying to shape your body up and keep your health in a good state. Everyone knows exercise is good for health and your mum and sis would get what you meant as long as they understand that you are not trying to be aneroxic that kind of thing. After all, they are just caring about you. If they are still not convinced, maybe you can bring them along when you go for exercises so that they can see that you are just trying to exercise for good health and not to be aneroxic? Show them that you are not cutting down your food, you are just merely adding exercise as a part of your life.
On what kind of exercise which you can do, my opinion is that find something that you enjoy doing so that you will not give up eventually. Every exercise helps to put you in good health if you know how to utilize it to the maximum. Even light exercises such as walking for 20 minutes a day works if you so it consistently. The point is to get yourself moving. Since you are sort of a newbie, try to exercise as much as you can and when you feel that your body cannot take it anymore, stop by all means. Don’t force your body to do something out of its capacity. Gradually increase the intensity as time goes by and your body is ready for it. Good luck.
If you refer to my source, you will see this Everloss system which is targeted to people who are trying to lose weight. But of course, it is also suitable for people who wants to change their lifestyle to a better and healthier one. Since you are trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle, I am just thinking that it might suit you. I have a copy myself and I think the advices and tips there are really useful and healthy.
