I don’t know about Yoga, but I know about Meditation. The more you do it the faster you can get into the state of contemplation. Like anything the more you practice the better you get at it. And the healthier you are if you meditate at least 20 minutes once a day. Many contemplative monks and nuns live very long and healthy lives.
Yes, I do yoga/pilates and I felt the difference after the first time. As for meditation, it may seem hard at first to clear your mind of all thought. The mind is filled with so much chatter, however once you are able to focus and steady your mind the results are wonderful. I started at the Self realization fellowship, maybe there is one near you. Part of the fellowship is for meditating, I always leave there feeling like a new person. Also, I use to have a meditation tape that I used at home (only use it when you meditate) ir really helped me focus.
Practice makes perfect. The exercise form of Yoga will be faster to yield results with constant practice.
Meditation is not going to be easy. Yes, as you practice more you will progress but the progress may be slow to an extent you feel there is no progress at all.
I dont suggest meditation without the guidance of a qualified Guru ( spiritual master ). There are a lot of books which provide a DIY guide to meditation but it is never advisable to proceed without a Guru. There are a lot of aspects to meditation and doing it without guidance can yield undesirable effects.
But be warned that you can do Yoga for months and it will still be a pain in the @ss (literally)
i have been doing Yoga for 2 years and I’m still not a flexible as my instructor. So please be patient.
And meditation is ALLOT easier then Yoga, i very good at going into a meditative state quickly.
Daisy, I do both, and I can tell you that, yes, yoga gets much easier over time. But that’s the key: you must be patient with yourself and with your body. Some days are better than others, so just keep going and you’ll be just fine.
As for meditation, I started doing five minutes a day, and worked my way up from there. And yes, it gets easier.
I have been meditating for about 14 years now,for over 3 years I have not missed a sitting. It is the best thing I have ever done. It is hard for awhile, but you will find yourself becoming more in tune, with what you truly are. Just be as still as you can, relax and “be as you are”, & some day you will be amazed.
easier? maybe more use to it, but like any other thing in life , there are good day and bad days. we all have inner stuff, that is really stuck in there and it takes a very long time to root it out. sorry i cant give you a Rosy scenario. but keep at it:)
it’s from Theravada Buddhist religion in Thailand.
It will tel you to meditate from start until the end. Also, tell you how to check your own progress.

The great news is, you don’t have to be an expert. Just the activity is effective. Effective.

It gets easier with practice and how comfortable your body and mind feel.
It is fair quiclky, you would see it, any day you would found your self comfortable and willing to do both activities….
Good luck!!!

Yes, just keep at it. A little each day, and then increase your meditation session times. You’ll be surprised how quickly your mind takes to it.
